BLOOMINGTON, IN — Freshman Hoosier forward Lilly Meister has played for the John Marshall High School varsity team since seventh grade. She is only one of her two players in history to reach a total of 2,000 career her points.
The Rochester, Minnesota native averaged 22.3 points, 11.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game as a senior.
“Lilly is a player we’ve had for a long time,” Indiana women’s basketball head coach Teri Mollen said.
“She has great length and skill in the forward position. She has the versatility to not only score on the inside, but also to come out on the perimeter and hit across the arc.”

Meister announced his move to Indiana in November 2020 and signed freshman Lexus Valgesser for 2021.
“This class is very important to us as we continue to build our program,” Mollen said. “These two young women are great basketball players and great people.
“Going through the recruitment process, it was important to find the right fit for us.Lexus and Lily fit our playing style and culture of hard work.Day.”

Meister’s superior length and style of play contributed 1,313 rebounds, the most in John Marshall’s history with 1,313.
With her six-year varsity résumé and a caring heart described by former coach Phil Schroeder, she ultimately Post Bulletin Women’s Basketball Player of the Year her senior season.
Meister has also won four All-Conference and All-Area First Team honors, 2021 All-State Select and 2022 All-State First Team honors.
The talented forward hails from a basketball-loving family whose parents, Kurt and Angie, met in South Dakota. Prior to that, Angie had performed with her three children as well as John Her Marshall.

Meister’s brother Lincoln also plays ball and stands tall as a 6’9-inch forward for the Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs. John Marshall.
Rated #87 on the Collegiate Girls Basketball report, Meister joins three other Hoosier freshmen from the Midwest and internationally.
“Her best basketball is ahead of her as she continues to go strong,” Moren said. “I’m excited to develop her into a really good Big Ten player.”
