The biggest surprise of the week is Duke’s rise from unranked to number 19. North Carolina just dropped from the top 10 border to the top 25. Arkansas dropped out in this week’s poll, but six teams moved up at least. 3 spots in his latest AP poll.

Another big point: ACC is more It’s more competitive than you think. In fact, ESPN made that pretty clear latest NCAAW Bracket science update. According to that bracket update, there are currently eight teams predicted to enter the NCAAW tournament, six of which (!!!) are currently predicted to finish in the 6th seed or higher. And that doesn’t include Clemson, who currently plans to be a “first he four out” team.

With some capable ACC programs getting off to a semi-slow start and others springing up out of nowhere, the ACC looks set to beat the conference this year.

Things will get even more interesting for Syracuse, as they have 14 games left to play against the ACC before the conference tournament.
