2022 NCAA Baseball Tournament printable bracket, schedule, regional matchups: Tennessee No. 1 overall seed

On Monday, the selection committee announced 64 fields of the 2022 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament, which will be announced shortly. Before joining, you need to know that the structure of the NCAA Baseball Tournament is a little different. A more familiar hoop variant.

Before that, there are some points:

  • This year’s field will include 31 automated bids and 33 large participants through the conference championship. The first round of play is called regional and is a double elimination format. Each of the 16 No. 1 seeds will host the region of each of the four teams, if possible. 1 to 4 are seeded in each of the 16 regions. In each region, No. 1 faces No. 4 and No. 2 faces No. 3 on the first day of action. The winners of these two games then play each other, and the losers play the elimination game.
  • The winner of each regional will advance to Super Regional. Super Regional, which includes a total of 16 teams, is the best 3 series format.
  • The Super Regional winners (8 teams in total) will advance to the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska.
  • The College World Series is a double elimination format until the last two teams leave. At that point, the slate has been wiped clean and is the best of the three series to determine the national champion.

The 64 fields also include seeds from eight countries that can be considered pre-tournament favorites to reach Omaha. Here are the rankings in the order of record for this year’s regular season.

  1. Tennessee, 53-7
  2. Stanford, 40-14
  3. Oregon, 44-14
  4. Virginia Tech, 41-12
  5. Texas A & M, 37-18
  6. Miami-Florida, 39-18
  7. Oklahoma, 39-20
  8. East Carolina, 42-18

If a country’s seed wins that region, it will host a super regional if possible. Otherwise, the Super Regional site will be announced after the end of the regional round.

And now for the full field. Regional play will begin on Friday, June 3rd. All 16 regional matches are here. Recall that each region is seeded from 1 to 4 and hosted by one of the 16 national seeds.
