The Irish won 7-3 and made their first foray into Omaha since 2002. This is the third time. Tennessee has been ranked number one overall for the third consecutive year to finish the NCAA tournament in Super Regional, ending the season with a record of 57-9.

Stanford Super Regional

To Omaha: Stanford

UConn won Saturday’s opening round 13-12 after leading 9-0 with Pacific-12 Pitcher of the Year Alex Williams. Stanford started a late comeback, but he recorded the ninth six runs and didn’t stop the rest of the weekend’s score. After winning the series 8-2, the Cardinal put Monday’s finale out of reach with four innings of six runs, winning 10-5 with the clincher. Stanford will return to Omaha for the first time in a series of seasons since he appeared at the event five times in a row from 1999 to 2003.

However, Auburn had an advantage in Game 3 as he kept Oregon State University to just three hits with a 4-3 victory. Chapel Hill Super Regional
