Wednesday final results

The first night of the 2022 Purdue Invite has been decided. Louisville leads the standings for both the men’s and women’s teams through Wednesday’s action.

The Cardinals got off to an early start, breaking the pool record in the Women’s 200 Free Relay and significantly clearing the NCAA ‘A’ standard. Gabi Albiero (22.09), Christiana Regenauer (21.54), Julia Dennis (21.55), and Ella Welch (21.85) teamed up and won the race by over two seconds with a 1:27.03. Louisville blew his NCAA ‘A’ standards of 1:28.43 and automatically qualified for his NCAA championship in March.

Louisville will also host the men’s 200m free relay. Abdelrahman El Arabi (19.62), Dalton Law (19.07), Vlad Dubinin (19.64), and Michael Eastman Combining (18.95) gives 1:17.28. northwestern Jasmine Nocentini Louisville denied sweeping the night’s swim event, winning the women’s 50 free at 21.59. Not only did her swim dominate the win, Nocentini set her personal best and broke the Northwestern program record for her performance. She blew her 21.78, her personal best to date.

Behind Nocentini, Louisville showed incredible depth, moving up from 2nd to 6th. Christiana Reggenauer (21.89), Gabi Albiero (21.90), Julia Dennis (22.42), Caroline Barrett (22.53), and Ella Welch (22.53) was the next swimmer.

After leading qualifying at 19.44, Cal Baptist’s Remi Fabiani Tonight’s men’s 50 free win at 19.36.

Purduse Nick Sherman He set a career best of 1:42.90 in the men’s 200 IM qualifier this morning. He won tonight’s event, but swam a lot slower in 1:44.49.

Louisville closed out the session with a 400th medley relay win. In the women’s 400 medley, Abbie Hay (53.41), Cecilia Viberg (59.31), Tristen Uretto (52.00), and Gabi Albiero (47.50) Teamed up and swam in 3:32.22.
