3 things to watch as the Dallas Mavericks visit the Orlando Magic

of Dallas Mavericks (6-3) will visit the Amway Center tonight at 4:30 PM CST to orlando magic (2-9) Second time in 10 days. why so soon? Well, a hurricane is on the horizon. Dallas handled Orlando the last time these two teams faced off. Beat Magic with a score of 114-105Orlando is looking to make a comeback, but the Mavericks are hoping for a win at the front of the back-to-back.

Fans will be treated to a rematch between hot Luka Doncic and ROY favorite Paolo Banchero (which is suspect, given he’s playing with a left ankle injury). The Magic’s roster is brimming with young talent, and Dallas needs to ignore their record and take them seriously to go on a five-game winning streak.

This is just the “business game” of Dallas, and there are a few things to keep in mind to do just that.

Will JaVale McGee’s charade continue?

You could almost hear a collective groan from the MFFL community when Jason Kidd made the announcement Monday night. JaVale McGee returns to the starting lineup, citing “matchup” as his reasoning. After Dwight Powell’s strong start against Toronto, it didn’t seem like much for him to go back. A very ineffective Maggie-centric lineup Against Nick Claxton’s untraditional starting big. This was immediately apparent as McGee was pulled into the game with his 3:25. Throw a stupid pass out of bounds Get a visible ridicule from Luka Doncic. Simply put, he cannot see the floor at this point. If the Mavericks want to avoid a slow start, he’ll start Dwight Powell.

Magic has PG this time

The last time they played against Dallas, Orlando suffered an injury at the point guard position, forcing Franz Wagner, Terrence Ross and RJ Hampton to enlist Moonlight in the role. It was clear that they were missing a floor general in the closing stages. It struggled to look good in crunch time and helped the Mavericks pull away in the second half. Markelle Fultz and Cole Anthony will not be in action, but Orlando will have Jalen Saggs in the lineup this time. The second-year guard is off to a solid start to the season, averaging 12.7 points and his 5.0 assists on a 45% shooting percentage from the field. He’s part of Magic’s roster’s vast collection of young lottery picks, and Dallas needs to come up with a game plan for what he brings to the table.

Who will step up to the short-handed Mavericks?

When Christian Wood out with knee injury, Tim Hardaway Jr. in doubt with hip pain, the Mavericks bench suddenly finds itself in a very thin position. Josh Green needs to build on the best performance of his career and continue to provide production for the Mavericks, and Maxi Kleber needs to get some shots. The question is, who else will Jason Kidd call to fill the Mavericks’ best-of-the-two spot on her bench and her scorer? Will Frank Ntilikina make his season debut and do something? Will Jaden Hardy get the call and burst into a rotating role? Will he be forced to suffer*?Gokugoku* For Facundo Campazzo? It will be interesting to see how they deal with this issue. Hopefully Wood and Hardaway don’t go into overtime because the Mavericks need production off the bench and there’s no easy way to replace it.
