3 thoughts from a Dallas Mavericks win over the Phoenix Suns, 130-111

of Dallas Mavericks rolled Phoenix Suns They won 130-111 in Dallas on Monday night. The game was really beyond doubt after the Mavericks made a big run midway through the first quarter. It didn’t creep within 15 after the quarterly surge. Dallas was able to get the team back in the game, including these Suns in the first game of the season. not tonight. They kept winning.

Luka Doncic led all scorers with 33 points and had eight rebounds and six assists. Josh Green scored his 16 points off the bench with his 6/7 shooting. DeAndre Ayton led the Suns with 20 points and eight rebounds.

Three thoughts from the game are:

Mavericks had great energy all night

It was the Suns’ second night in a streak and third game in four nights. It should be a scheduled win for the Mavericks. But this season, we’ve seen Dallas struggle to win the games they should have. It was different tonight. It’s clear from the jump that they have more energy than the sun, so it’s not confusing at all.

Normally on the prowl, the Mavericks ran up and down the court, especially in the first half. They had 11 quick break points in the first half alone. They average 9.8 per game over the season. They slowed down a bit in the second half, but that was just offensively. Their defense remained high and the Suns’ dead leg contributed to a below-average 3-point shot.It was nice to see the Mavericks handle business against a tired team.

Phoenix couldn’t get Dallas to pay for defensive plan

The Mavericks sent an offensive double-team to Devin Booker for most of the game and dared to beat the other Suns. They couldn’t, and this forced Booker to shoot inefficiently. He finished the game with just 11 points on 4-of-13 shooting. Booker attempted only two he three-pointers and at the rim he only succeeded 1/4.

With Booker incapacitated, the Suns had no one else who could mount an attack on them. The Suns really missed Chris Paul, who was absent due to heel pain.

Even though I won, the same problem lurks.

The Mavericks won away but were rebounded by a very tired Suns team. The Suns made more assists. And Phoenix owned the paint, with him outscoring the Mavericks 46-42. This looks closer than it actually is because of his garbage time. Dallas won this game by mostly beating the Suns. They were 52% of him off the floor overall, compared to his 43% for the Suns. And they were completely flammable from deep inside, with threes he shot 49%. The Suns, on the other hand, hit only 34 percent. The Mavericks need to get to grips with some shortcomings in order to stop relying on beating their opponents so often.
