Douglas Alarid, the winner of the Arizona Football Letter and a longtime supporter of the University of Arizona, has given Arizona Athletics a total of $ 4.8 million in gifts. Allred was a member of the football team during the 1955 and 1956 seasons and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from the University of Arizona. While a student athlete, he served in the US Navy as a member of the Underwater Demolition Team, the predecessor of the Navy’s SEAL team, after enrolling in the Navy Officer Preparatory Training Corps.
