Director Kori Close and Bruins broke new ground on the hiring path.
Guard Devin Cosgriff became the first class of new employees in 2026 to receive an offer from UCLA Women’s Basketball on Monday. 8th grade has already held seven offers before Bruins was involved in hiring the acclaimed teenagers.
UCLA will join Wagner, Ohio, Cal, Arizona, USC, Harvard, and Utah to participate in Kosglyph’s efforts, but there are still signs that the junior high school phenomenon could turn to college.
At the AAU circuit, Kosglyph played in Jason Kidd Select Girls Basketball, a North California youth basketball program started by Jason Kidd, a former NBA point guard and current Dallas Mavericks coach, and is one of the most dynamic players on the 16U team. I’m alone. Cosgriff is also the niece of former MLB All-Star and World Series Champion Dontrelle Willis.
Kidd is hoping to post on social media to actively promote women’s basketball outlook in the program and be adopted by the Division I level. Jason Kidd Select’s 2022 class sends eight players to the DI program, including two to Pac-12.

Cosgriff stands in a 5’9 position where he has room to grow throughout his high school career, demonstrating his ability to not only play in the post, but also perform points to assist his teammates.
Kosglyph’s Twitter account, run by her parents, shares a video showing her ability to score on traffic, pull up fade away jumpers at the post, and block shots from enemy players.
Jason Kidd Select has posted his own video showing Cosgriff scoring from across the midrange and arc. The all-round guard has a smooth shot and doesn’t seem to be afraid to shoot tall defenders in her way.
UCLA is currently offering two offers to its 2025 prospect class. Texas outlook Aaliyah Chavez When Oregon-based security guard Jazzy Davidson.. High school freshmen still have a long way to go to hire, but their future decisions may be considered in how Bruins moves Kosglyph forward.
