North Carolina quarterback Devin Leary will miss the rest of the season, and Jack Chambers will be the starter in Syracuse on Saturday.
Wolfpack coach Dave Doren gave no update on Leary’s status this week, nor did he say whether Chambers would start. Breast lacerations require surgery And Leary will go out.

Injury update: Zavala out of the pack
North Carolina State offensive guard Chandler Zavala is out with an injury and his return is in doubt. Zavala was taken to the locker room at the start of the second quarter and replaced by Derrick Eason.

The Orange moved to NCSU 4 before Andre Schmidt kicked a 22-yard field goal. Garrett Schrader finished the pack with Payton in the face of Wilson as Oronde completed 24 yards and he completed 12 yards to Gadsden on a drive he started with a penalty.
Dunn FG: Syracuse 7, North Carolina 3
The pack took advantage of a shanked orange punt starting at 49 to drive into field goal range and convert a play on 4th down on a Jordan Houston run. The pack scored the first goal at 7, but the Orange held and Christopher Dunn put the Wolfpack on the board with a 20-yard field goal.
Gadsden TD catches: Syracuse 7, NC 0
The puck won the opening toss and held off in the second half, quickly moving the Oranges to the TD. After Colin Smith’s kickoff went out of bounds, Syracuse started with his 35 and Sean scored on five plays as Tucker ran his 38 yards. Garrett Schrader found Oronde Gadsden II open with a 12-yard score. left corner of the end zone.

Leary’s injury news was the biggest one, but the pack also plays its primary rusher, Demmy Sumo-Kernvey, without turning it away. Jordan Huston starts, DeMarcus Jones backs up.
As expected, Nickel defensive back Tyler Baker-Williams is back in the lineup after being sidelined.
