Athletics Names Alexander Moule as New Men’s & Women’s Volleyball Head Coach

Moule teaches both male and female programs competing at the CUNY Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) and NCAA Division III levels nationwide.

Born and raised on Rockaway Beach in New York, Alex was four athletes at St. Edmund Prep High School in Brooklyn and helped launch a volleyball program.

He attended Lasell University in Massachusetts and earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology. While in Russell, he played three seasons (2015-2017) on the Division III volleyball team, participated in the program’s first and only Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship in 2015, and was named All-. I did. Tournament team. The championship team played in the NCAA tournament and, interestingly, he faced Bulk in the NCAA’s first round as Bearcats won five sets of nail bitters at the ARC Arena.


After playing in college, Mur began his coaching career. In his third year as Head Coach of Fontbonne Academy, he won the CHSAA Brooklyn Queens Championship, the CHSAA City Championship and finished as a runner in the CHSAA State Championship Tournament. He recently taught the Men’s Program at Polyprep High School and has been teaching Club Brooklyn Elite Volleyball since 2020.

“I have no more feelings when a group of individuals achieves one common goal. I am excited about the opportunity to be the head coach of the women’s and men’s volleyball teams at Baruch University. We understand that we have a rich history of success. Through departments, hard work and collaboration, I plan to add to this legacy as a new head coach, “Mur said.

Outside of Russell’s court, Alex was involved in various forms of activity. He became a certified child assault prevention specialist and organized a social justice campaign in which Lasell discusses mass imprisonment. He visited the Massachusetts State Capitol, lobbyed for systematic changes within the criminal justice system, and received the “Diversity and Inclusion” award from Russell.

Alex is a finalist in the Business Division’s Test Your Big Grant Idea competition and used the prize money to fund the Wiseclock Cafe startup coffee shop in Jaco Briis Park, which he had owned for the past four years. He founded the Riis Park Volleyball Academy in 2018. The academy offers tournaments and clinics for adults and children during the summer.
