Azzi Fudd doesn’t travel with UConn for win vs. Seton Hall

Fudd didn’t travel to South Orange, New Jersey, for the game, but instead returned to Connecticut for a knee test, according to Huskies manager Geno Auriemma.

“We’ll know more when we come back,” he said. “And whatever it is, we have to go from there.”

The sophomore guard was first injured during the December 4 loss at Notre Dame, missing eight games. She then returned in a January 11 win against St. John’s, scoring 14 points. But against Georgetown on Sunday, Fudd injured her knee again.

After the match, Auriemma said it was a tweak and didn’t appear to be a serious issue.

Even without Fudd, the No. 5 Huskies dominated the Pirates on Tuesday, recording 100 points for the first time since beating High Point 102-59 in the NCAA Tournament opener on March 21, 2021.

After feeling underperformed on Sunday, UConn were sharp from the front on Tuesday, shooting 56.5% overall from the field and 66.7% (10 of 15) from 3-point range behind the forwards. Dorka Juhas (22 points, 11 rebounds) Aaliyah Edwards (21, 11).
