NEW YORK – The UConn men’s basketball team will begin its 2022-23 BIG EAST schedule on Dec. 17 at Butler Road and finish on March 4 at Villanova Road.
The two games are part of the 20-game schedule the league announced on Friday. Also announced on Friday are game times, TV designations and the division of his UConn home games between the Gumpel Pavilion (Storms) and the XL Center (Hartford).
The Huskies head to Indianapolis on Saturday, December 17 to begin their third league schedule since returning to the BIG EAST Conference. Their first Big East home game will be against Georgetown on Tuesday, December 20th at Gumpel’s pavilion.
After a week off, UConn will host Villanova at the XL Center (December 28) while the Huskies will spend New Year’s Eve (December 31) in Cincinnati, playing Xavier.
UConn will kick off the 2023 portion of its schedule with three consecutive weeks of away games on weekdays and home games on weekends.
The Huskies will travel to Providence on Wednesday, January 4th, then return home later that week to entertain Clayton at Gumpel on Saturday, January 7th. It also includes weekday trips and a weekend home game hosting St. John’s at the XL Center on Sunday, January 15th. For the third straight week, UConn will travel to Seton Hall on his Wednesday, January 18, stay home for the weekend, and on Sunday, January 22, he will host Butler at the XL Center.
The Huskies will stay home to face Xavier in Gamper on Wednesday, January 25, and finish the month in DePaul on Tuesday, January 31.
The February schedule begins on Saturday, February 4th in Georgetown, with a home run against Marquette at the XL Center on Tuesday, February 7th. On Saturday 11th February UConn will be in Clayton and on Saturday 18th February in Gamper he will take a week off before hosting Seton Hall at the Pavilion.
UConn will stay in Gamper to meet Providence on Wednesday, February 22nd and travel to Madison Square Garden to fight St. John on Saturday, February 25th.
UConn’s two games in March include the final regular-season home game against DePaul in Hartford on Wednesday, March 1, and the regular-season finale in Villanova on Saturday, March 4.
The BIG EAST tournament will take place March 8-11 at Madison Square Garden.
Combined with UConn’s non-conference schedule, the Huskies will play nine home games at the Gumpel Pavilion and eight at the XL Center.
