Borendame Selected to NCAA D-I Men’s and Women’s Tennis Committee

Indianapolis – Middle Tennessee Men’s Tennis Head Coach Jimmy Borendam He was appointed to the NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Tennis Commission and joined the prestigious group on Friday morning.

Borendam, who is celebrating his 13th year under the direction of the Blu-ray Dars, will begin his term at a committee meeting until August 23, 2023. The NCAA Men’s and Women’s Tennis Commission is NCAA Division I Tennis.

“I am honored to be a member of the NCAA Men’s and Women’s Tennis Committee,” said Borendam. “I’m excited to help learn and grow college tennis in the best possible way.”

Borendame started as a student athlete at Butler from 1999 to 2002 and has become a staple of the college tennis community. After his playing career, Wheaton, Illinois products stopped as an assistant coach in West Virginia, William & Mary, Virginia Tech from 2003 to 2008 and was promoted to Hawkeys Associate Head Coach in 2009. Did.

He then worked for Des Moines, Iowa for a year as head coach for the 2010 season Drake, leading the Bulldog to a comprehensive 15-9 and 11-2 record at home.

Since arriving in Murfreesboro in 2011, Borendam has rebuilt Middle Tennessee Men’s Tennis on the national stage and has revitalized the local tennis community. With over 200 wins at the Blu-ray Dars while at MTSU, he is the second coach to reach that milestone in program history.

Four Conference USA and two Sunbelt Coach of the Year, Borendam also won the 2021 USPTA National Coach of the Year, two USPTA Southern College Coach of the Year, and two ITA Ohio Valley Region Coach of the Year. doing.Year award

During that time, he led five teams to the conference championships and NCAA tournaments. This includes the current three Petes of the C-USA Championship, one of the three schools in the history of the conference. In addition, Borendam has produced three C-USA Players of the Year, 69 All-Conference Athletes and 61 ITA Scholar Athletes.
