Brandon Miller best freshman in the country, per CBS Sports

In any given season, freshmen are usually the most talented players in college basketball, as reflected in the NBA Draft each summer. Generally speaking, though, I wrote that this year, “freshmen don’t give a lot of instructions.”

“The best freshman in the country is the University of Alabama Brandon Miller, an average of 19.2 points. He is the only diaper dandy to be in the top 100 nationally in points per game. Norlander wrote“Let’s take a look at the 247Sports ranking of the best players in their class for 2022. That group has good starters, but the former 5 stars who have proven themselves to be college stars in the first seven weeks of the season.” there are very few.”

Some of these problems stem from injuries or odd situations. Top 3 players in 247Sports Ranking: Arkansas Nick Smith and Dukes Derek Lively II When Darik Whitehead Everyone faced some kind of limitation this year.

But Miller is just as good, if not better than advertised. The 14th overall player by 247Sports, he always had the potential to win big in the lottery.

247Sports’ Travis Branham said, “The reviews coming out of Tuscaloosa are very high for Brandon.” in the network’s pre-season Alabama preview“I’m personally excited to see what he’ll do in Alabama. In high school, he was a top 10 talent in his class. There’s no denying that. He tends to settle for tough pull-up jumpers, and his effort and energy on the defensive side often require more reps. But he really seems to have hit his stride. This is something we see every year with very talented seniors. The kids get bored. It’s Brandon and he has I’m excited to see him because it could fit all the talents out there.”

Miller backed up that preseason buzz. He is averaging 19.3 points, 8.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. At 6-foot-9, he uses his length to shoot defensemen, and in 40 minutes he made 8.5 of his 3-point attempts, his 44.2% 3-point percentage.

And he continues to grow within Ark. Miller has made 38.8% of his 2-point attempts in the season, but Miller’s 2-point shots in his final three games for Alabama are 11 of his 19. That’s a much respectable 57.9%.
