Brandon Miller leads Alabama Basketball over Spain Select

of alabama crimson tide On Monday, he used hot shooting and good depth to defeat the Spanish Select team by a score of 108-64. The Tide sent the starting five of Charles Bediaco, Brandon Miller, Mark Sears, Noah Clowney and Rylan Griffen to start the game.

Shooting stats weren’t exactly kept, but the Tide threw 11 3-pointers to Spain’s 8. Alabama recorded 25 rebounds, 28 assists, 26 steals, 19 turnovers and 23 fouls. Spain had 21 rebounds, 10 assists, 8 steals, 29 turnovers and 18 fouls.

The Tide led 27-20 after the first quarter and built up from there. The 12-0 run was underscored by Brandon Miller’s 3 for him, and for some reason he was listed as David Diaz Herrero on the Swish app, creating a slam dunk marketing opportunity for him. This put the team in a comfortable lead, and he finished the first half in Alabama’s favor with a score of 56–33.

Miller, née Diaz Herrero, started the second half with a dunk off a missed shot from which the Tide rolled. With an 85-52 lead he headed into fourth coach Nate Oats and continued to play a lot of time with many players. Ten players played his double-digit time, and 16 players each played more than his five minutes.

Miller/Diaz Herrero personally played the longest at 20:37, adding 6 rebounds and 2 assists to tie the team lead with 19 points. Griffen also scored 19 points with 4 rebounds and 5 assists. Clowney had 12 points, 3 rebounds and 6 steals. Dom Welch scored 11 points in his 13 minutes of action, Nimali Barnett in his 10 points added him to a double-digit brigade, and in 16 minutes he recorded 5 assists. Sears had 8 points and 4 assists for him, Jaden Bradley had 7 points and 2 assists in his 19 minutes.

The Tide has two more games scheduled, both in Paris, France during this European tour. On 11 August, Bama will face the Lithuanian Men’s B His Nation His Team at 7:30pm Paris time and against the Chinese Men’s National Team on 12 August at 7:30pm.

Unfortunately, this trip does not have TVs, either streaming or network. Auburn, Kentucky, and Arkansas all have trip highlights (and in Auburn’s case, they already have). It looks like the university could have arranged for a streaming service in this day and age. From what I’ve heard, it’s not that hard to pull off. Either way, the team has great experience on and off the court that should help them going forward.
