Gary Parrish and Matt Norlander, college basketball writers for CBS Sports, surveyed nearly 100 coaches in their annual Candid Coaches series. They surveyed everyone from the head of the elite program his coach to assistants at some of the smallest Division I schools. In exchange for complete anonymity, Coach provided unfiltered honesty on many topics.
Some of college basketball’s biggest jobs are Officially fulfilled after last season – among them duke, Maryland, Louisville When floridaeach of which has won a national championship in the last 20 years.

We asked about 100 college coaches the exact questions. What they told us is reflected below.

Takeaway
The fact that this question got 20 different answers is wild and evidence that the obvious correct answer is not recognized. Unlike last year, when Texas’ Chris Beard received 61% of the vote..
(Notable: Last year, Tommy Lloyd Arizona Hubert Davis, who was the #1 seed in the NCAA Tournament and led UNC to the NCAA Tournament title game, both received less than 3% of the vote. So things don’t always play out the way coaches and all of us often believe. But I digress. )
If I had been asked to predict the winner of this poll before I actually conducted this poll, I would have answered Duke’s Jon Scheyer. Or maybe I went with Sean Miller on Xavier or Thad Matta on Butler.
That being said, Shaheen Holloway is a perfectly reasonable early vote getter.
Not only did he rob St. Peter – Peacock! — Named an Elite Eight for the 2022 NCAA Tournament after finishing in the top three in the Metro-Atlantic Athletic Conference in each of the last three seasons, Holloway is considered a great recruit. , which is also how he seemed to develop a strong culture within the program, and the players seemed to love and respect him so much, so literally attended his introductory press conference at Seton Hall.

It is impossible to know for certain how employment will unfold. Nebraskaof Three years ago, in this poll, Fred Hoiberg received more votes than UCLA’s Mick Cronin and Arkansas’ Eric Musselman. But I’m still looking for my first 11-win season with the Huskers while Cronin makes it to the Final Four and Musselmann hits back-to-back Elite Eights. I suspect he may be next in big business with Seton in his halls, and based on the poll results, a good number of his colleagues agree.
