Carlie Littlefield signs Professional contract

Former UNC Women’s Basketball prominent Curly Littlefield is ready to begin his professional basketball career in Belgium.

Curly Littlefield is ready to start her professional basketball career.

It was announced that Littlefield has signed a contract to play professional basketball in Belgium. A prominent player in the former UNC Women’s Basketball will join the Liege Panthers, a Belgian league team based in Liege, Belgium.

The first hope was that Littlefield had the option to return to North Carolina for another season. Unfortunately, the NCAA did not qualify ivy League athletes for an additional season to supplement the canceled COVID season, forcing Littlefield to pursue other opportunities.

Her lonely season at Chapel Hill in Des Moines, a native of Iowa, had a huge impact on the program. As a team captain, Littlefield played a key role in helping the Tar Heels advance to Sweet 16 for the first time since 2015. She started all 32 games, averaging 8.8 points and achieving the team’s highest 2.7 assists per game.

Her decision to move to North Carolina was certainly influenced by the presence of Courtney Banghart’s head coach. While coaching at Princeton, Banhart helped recruit Littlefield into the Ivy League program and reunited when outstanding guards finally chased the coach to Chapel Hill.

not to mention, Banhart is certainly excited About the opportunity for her ex-point guard to start her professional career.

“I first hired Curly from Des Moines, Iowa seven years ago. It’s me as a coach to see her grow as a player at both ends of the ball and mature as an elite floor and locker room leader. One of the greatest joys of the player. The value of a player can always be judged by the number of teams that participated in that victory. Curly is a champion, a relentless worker, and she is of all the teams so far. I have been a floor general.

Liège Panthers has become one of the best true point guards in the country. I miss her, but I’ll bring you a live stream! “

Like Banhart coaches, we certainly tune to live streams!
