Celtics Jayson Tatum on hand issues: “I have a lot of s*** going on”

thursday night, boston celtics won 109-98 to win five games in a row. brooklyn netsThe Nets lost superstar Kevin Durant and the Celtics lost both Jaylen Brown (right adductor strain) and Al Horford (hip strain). Jayson Tatum has 20 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists.

After the game, Tatum was interviewed to talk about his team’s performance, the design of his leaked signature shoe, and his health. “I think we kept playing the right way throughout the game, but then it got away with it,” Tatum said. “I have a lot of credit for his second unit at the start of the second and fourth quarters.”

Boston’s bench gave the Celtics an offensive spark when they needed it, especially with Jaylen Brown out through injury. “From Luke, Sam, Malcolm and Peyton,” said Tatum. Without Brown, the Nets were finding ways to defensively key in Tatum, throw two bodies at him, and put pressure on him every time the ball got to him. It was very similar to how I did it.

“Just keep moving, create space, move off the ball and set screens,” Tatum said when asked about how he would counter that defense. “If I had the iso they would have sent an extra one and brightened the ball screen so only what we know about getting into the game… read it correctly I’ll draw two, drag them out, find an open man, play four-on-three, pass good shots and make great shots.”

Tatum and the Celtics have Jaylen Brown out at least a week with an adductor strain and will have to learn how to navigate the situation in the next few games. The following morning, Joe Mazura gave an update on his injury and a schedule for his recovery. But Brown is certainly not the only one with injuries. Playing with tape on his left wrist, thumb and ring finger, Tatum said, “I do a lot of s***.

Tatum revealed after the game that the same wrist injury that had plagued him in the Finals had crossed his mind again this season, and he was also dealing with other issues with his hand. something to [Stevens] Tatum joked when asked if he was going to take a break.

“Everyone is expected to do more [with Jaylen Brown out]’ said Tatum. “Everybody has to step up. Men have more opportunities and we have to make the most of it. But health is most important and we need to maintain it until he gets better.”

Speaking about his injury, Tatum said: He remembers one game in the season where he hurt the Phillies. Then he had a problem with his thumb and more recently with his ring finger but Nick [Sang] I have to keep trying to find a way to tape it together. ”

Health is paramount to the Celtics, and it’s clear from the way the organization has treated Robert Williams that they are aware of that. If not, Brad Stevens and Joe Mazura should think together to make time off for one of their star players. If the goal is ultimately a championship, the goal should be to give the core members the leave they need.

If the Celtics can manage the workload of Al Horford and Robert Williams, it’s still possible the team will do the same with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. should be close to 100% for all the aforementioned players.
