This was expected. Both teams put in a lot of effort and battled it out, but Cincinnati wasn’t good enough to do anything offensively, with six combined turnovers between the two teams and little drama. .
Scott Satterfield left one team and waited in the wings to coach the other. The main part was not present. With about 19 fans in the stands outside friends and family, the novelty of the game being played at a baseball stadium wore off. off immediately.

You know it’s a terrible bowl when the namesake man walks into the booth and can’t stop yelling about how boring it was. It didn’t help that this was happening at about the same time it was in epic meltdown mode on the other hand.
The combination of Fresno State QB Jake Hehner and RB Jordan Mimms was worth some redemption to counter a Washington State defense that lost a number of key players, but this is what makes it competitive. There weren’t many opposing attacks to make it.

This probably deserves more credit than it gets here. It was supposed to be an explosive dud, Boise State was a double-digit favorite, and it turned out to be funny.
It wasn’t as good as the close-quarters final score would suggest, but there was an attack. Boise State was great on the ground and the North Texas offense kicked it off after halftime. It didn’t look like the Meangreens were trying to get over the hump – they were always stuck on their side of the field – after pulling within three midway through the fourth.

Given that most of the dad bowls on this list were due to not having one or five star players, credit BYU for finding a way to get this done. Stylistically, it wasn’t very clean about this.
BYU QB Jaren Hall was sidelined with an ankle injury and Soljay Maiaba Peters ran well and did not complete a pass in the second half. Still, BYU’s defense held on… took the lead with a big pick 6… and held on. His first 50 minutes were rough, but with eight seconds left he delivered a thrilling finish with SMU falling short of his two-point conversion.

Get over all the mistakes UTSA made and their overall lack of scoring pop. The only fight between two conference champions was expected to make him one of the most interesting bowls of the season, and it totally came true.
No, it wasn’t as sharp as UTSA can be, but Troy’s defense was great as it held up over and over again.

This is why bowl season is so great. This should have been terrible, but it really wasn’t.
Miami lost a lot of players and UAB was waiting for Trent Dilfer’s coaching era to kick in.
The game was erratic for a while, but with a great finish, the first bowl game of the season set the bar uncomfortably high. Taken away, D held on for his life as Miami’s final pass was stopped by two.

This was everything you could want in a bowl game.
When Deion Sanders embarked on a new gig in Colorado, it was expected to be the Jackson State coronation to cap off a perfect season. But North Carolina Central came here because they can play that too.
The intensity of both teams is off the charts, both are physical, have tremendous momentum swings throughout, and even when defeated, Coach Prime’s team, especially his son Shedul Sanders, is a marvel. He gave a dramatic and dramatic show.
Saunders performed admirably on a desperate 81-yard scoring drive that must-have, culminating in a touchdown pass in the final minute of regulation with no time to go into overtime. His QB Davius Richard and his team at NC Central have done a little more.
