The 2001-2002 Sacramento Kings were one of the best in the history of the franchise. Chris Webber, Peja Stojakovic, Vlade Divac, Mike Bibby, Doug Christie, Hedo Turkolu and others were on the roster. Kings, coached by Rick Adelman, finished his regular season with a record of 61-21. This was enough record to enter the playoffs as the number one seed at the Western Conference.

After passing the first two rounds of the playoffs relatively easily, Kings played against the Lakers, who were second seeded at the Western Conference Finals. Sacramento led Series 3-2, but lost two games in a row, and Los Angeles advanced to the finals, sweeping New Jersey for the third straight victory.

According to Webber, a five-time NBA All-Star, the 2001-2002 Kingsteam would have won the title if they hadn’t been fooled by Game 6 of the series with the Lakers. LA won 4 points in a tough contest. Game 7 was overtime and the Lakers won 6 points. Webber believes that being fooled in Game 6 destroyed Kings and couldn’t hold it to the end in Game 7.

“I think it’s the Lakers,” Webber said. Ringer Logan Murdoch and Raja Bell As reported by HoopsHype.. “I don’t know if it’s 2002 or 2003. I think it’s the year we were fooled in Game 6 … the year Robert Holley hit the crazy shot … it was that year. It was a year. As you know, I and Kobe were always talking about it. (…) It was a team. I should have won the championship, but after being disappointed with Game 6, I didn’t follow. I didn’t win because of that. “
