The 2022 College World Series field has some of the most famous programs in college baseball, all with one thing in common.

Eight programs in this area are in the midst of a long-titled drought or have never won in Omaha, Nebraska.

The Stanford Cardinal is the best national seed left from the NCAA baseball tournament, and Texas Longhorns has the most College World Series titles in the field.

Stanford and Texas will play 17 finals in the College World Series, but the final title of the pair is from the 2005 Longhorns.

The eight-team field will be completed by four SEC teams and two other teams from outside the Top University Baseball Federation. Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Oklahoma Sooners meet the non-SEC category. Oklahoma and Texas will join the SEC within a few years.

The SEC has set the record for the College World Series of most teams qualified from a single conference, but like last year’s Mississippi State Bulldog, the conference may not be able to win national titles.

Stanford and Texas, along with Texas A & M Aggie’s and Auburn Tigers, are two of the four domestic seeds remaining in the tournament.

Stanford ended up as the only non-SEC squad in that part of the bracket. They may be vulnerable to losses as the Cardinals required three wins in each of the first two rounds to advance to Omaha.

Auburn, Arkansas Razorbacks and the Oremis Rebels all delay the road to Omaha, and all three SEC West teams may land in the Championship Series.

Stanford has a talent for MLB, led by Brock Jones, whose aggressive depth is deeper than the three potential enemies in Omaha. The Cardinal has four players with 18 or more home runs.

The SEC team has some notable personal talents, but their entire roster may not be able to surpass Stanford in multiple games.

On the other hand, at the top of the bracket, Texas and Texas A & M are on the collision course and the winner’s bracket may face each other.

In fact, if Texas defeats Notre Dame on Friday night, some competent rivals will be waiting for it. Big 12 rival Oklahoma plays Texas A & M in the opener.

Texas is one of Pete Hansen’s best ace in the country and home run leader in Ivan Melendez, but the Longhorns face a team that has defeated the number one team in the country to reach Omaha.

Notre Dame has won on the streets for two weeks in a row and is not afraid of one of the top pitchers in the country. You may not like coming out of the topside, as the energy exuded in the last two rounds can catch up with the Fighting Irish at some point in Omaha.

The College World Series uses a double elimination format, so Friday and Saturday losers have a chance to run back next week to reach the Championship Series.

One team from both sides of the bracket will land in the championship series scheduled to begin on June 25th. The best of the three series will determine the NCAA champion.
