Derek Fisher’s clutch shooting burned the Magic in the NBA Finals on this date in 2009

Derek Fisher’s Clutch 3 Pointer has raised the Los Angeles Lakers to a 99-91 road win in Game 4 of the NBA Finals. This victory led Orlando Magic 3-1.

Magic took the lead in the second half of the fourth quarter, but the Lakers were in the immediate vicinity due to Kobe Bryant’s excellent performance. With Magic Up 87-84, Dwight Howard went to the free throw line. He had the opportunity to finish the game, but instead missed both free throws. Los Angeles got a rebound and was called a timeout.

Subsequent possession of the Lakers, Fisher drilled three pointers over Jameer Nelson to tie the game with 4.6 seconds remaining. Magic missed the off-balance sheet buzzer and the game was overtime.

Neither team could be aggressive and the match ended in a 91 draw in the second half of overtime. When time was running out, Bryant found Fisher. Fisher hit the clutch 3 pointer again, this time with 31.3 seconds left. Magic missed the next shot, leading to Pau Gasol’s dunk shot that cleared the game.

Fisher went to 2-7 With three pointers, but two of them were important. Gasol finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Bryant finished with 32 points, 8 assists and 7 rebounds.

Howard was great inside Magic, finishing with 16 points, 21 rebounds and 9 block shots. However, he shot 6-14 in a free throw attempt. This includes two mistakes at the end of the regulation. Hedo Turkolu lost 25 points.

The victory was very important as the Lakers ended the series at home in Game 5.

Bryant was selected as the Final MVP.
