Draymond Green — ‘No real consequences’ for bad fan behavior

MILWAUKEE — During the game between the Golden State Warriors and the Milwaukee Bucks, a fan was kicked out after speaking with a fan on the Fiserv Forum on Tuesday night. draymond green.

As Giannis Antetokounmpo Fans in the baseline courtside seats hooted Green as he lined up for two free throws with 6:30 left in the third quarter of the final 128-111 Bucks win.

The Warriors forward said the fan “said something that threatened my life.”

Green responded to the fans several times before returning to the other side of the court when play resumed. He said he was about to get even more involved with the fans, but he managed to keep his cool.

On next stop — pair Stephen Curry Free throw at the 5:19 mark — Green let the umpire know what happened. The referee was guarded and the fans were ejected from the match.

In a subsequent statement, the Bucks said the ejection was “an umpire’s digression” and that they were “investigating the situation and discussing it with the NBA.”

Green, meanwhile, talked about what happened and how he handled it.

“Some people see NBA players as superhuman,” he said. I go home and laugh with my friends.

“I think it’s just one of them who can hold onto it and get to the referee and bring them out. That’s great.”

Tuesday wasn’t the first time Green had an affair with a fan this season. A little over a week ago, he was fined $25,000 for an altercation with a Dallas fan.

After the Nov. 29 incident, Green told ESPN he wasn’t sure what else the league could do to ensure good fan behavior and protect players.

On Tuesday, he echoed that sentiment, but made it clear that he knew this wasn’t an issue the league would ignore. It’s time to fine you for retorting… When you see a man being fined, I think it’s often a license for more people to do it.”

Green said he feels it needs something or someone outside the NBA to make a real difference when it comes to fan etiquette.

“There are no real results,” Green said. “Yeah, you can’t go back to the game. If you get arrested, nothing really happens… I hope these leagues can work with legislators to enforce the law.” Because that’s the only thing. It’ll really solve the problem.”
