Seminole, Florida Basketball is set to kick off the season tonight against the Stetson Hatters in a non-conference intrastate matchup.
According to DraftKings, FSU is the 18.5 point favorite against the Hatters.

Florida They are 26-4 (.867 winning percentage) in their season opener when they face a team from Florida.
It will be the first time in a 53-game series that the Seminoles will open the season against the Hatters. Florida State led an all-time series against Stetson in which he scored 42-11, and he has won 18 straight in the series. This has been going on since December 11, 1975 when he won 81-71 for the Seminoles. Wearing a hat under head coach Leonard Hamilton.
The Seminoles finish a season that had a promising 6-1 start in ACC play derailed by an injury bug that most people can’t remember, including one game in which all five starters missed. and With the return of several influential players from last season and the addition of a strong Recruit/Portal class, you’d think “Noles would have put most of their bad luck behind them.”
Unfortunately, it doesn’t.
FSU starts the season with one valuable transfer (Jaylan Gainey) missed the season with a knee injury, one of the best recruits (Chandler Jackson) is out at least tonight with a thumb injury, and arguably the best recruit in the class (Bubba Miller) will miss the first 16 games of the season thanks to an NCAA decision condemned by virtually everyone involved in college basketball.
All of this creates more question marks than usual as the season begins. (Read more about us Here are my impressions of the match). But that was when Miller was playing major minutes. It’s unclear how the staff will change things with him in the first half of the season.
What we do know is that there are plenty of pieces to mix and match. Caleb Mills, Matthew Cleveland, Jalen Whalley, Caron Fletcher and Naheem McLeod all return after one season I will come. Darrin Green Jr., meanwhile, is an astute transfer from UCF with plenty of experience, while Cameron Cohen and Tom House demonstrate their skills as freshmen.
But who knows how the staff will put this roster puzzle together.
