Gamecocks announce non-conference schedule for men’s hoops



South Carolina men’s basketball announced its non-conference schedule for the upcoming 2022-23 season on Monday. Gamecocks will host an exhibition to kick off the year with 13 more games before SEC action begins.

Gamecocks steps onto the floor for the first time under head coach Ramon Paris An exhibition with Mars Hill at the Colonial Life Arena on November 2nd. Admission is free.Lions Led by South Carolina’s Hoop Great Larry Davis, his first year as head coach. Davis, who was inducted into the South Carolina Athletics Hall of Fame in 2017, racked up 1,068 points in just two seasons (1995-97) with Garnett and Black. This is his second-most points earned by a player in his two years in the program’s history. He was a key member of his 1997 SEC championship team in the program.

The team will host South Carolina on November 7th in their home opener. The Gamecocks will face his Clemson at home on November 11th. This will be his second in November in his 171 matchups between two in-state rivals. His first November game between the Tigers and Gamecocks was on November 17, 2013 at Clemson. South Carolina leads the all-time series 91-80.

The Gamecocks then head east to the Holy City to attend the Shriners Children’s Charleston Classic. The program will be making its third appearance at the event for the first time since 2016. Carolina will face Colorado State in his opening game on Thursday, Nov. 17, with a scheduled tip-off at 5 p.m. ET on ESPNU. Gamecocks play again on Friday and Sunday. Both matches are awaiting the results of the previous match.

All tournament tickets for the Shriners Children’s Charleston Classic are on sale now. Fans can save $170 (usually $185) on the Early Bird Premium Lower Chairback Seat or $120 (usually $135) on the Lower Bleacher/Upper Level through August 20th .

Single-use tickets will go on sale in October, but availability is yet to be determined. South Carolina will then return home to play USC Upstate on Friday, November 25, the day after Thanksgiving.

The Gamecocks then head to Washington, DC for two games in George Washington (November 30) and Georgetown (December 3). Presbyterian is coming to Colonial Life’s arena on December 11th. The Gamecocks will then return for a matchup at UAB (December 14th).Blazers led by head coach Andy Kennedy, played in the 2022 NCAA Tournament. UAB is his current C-USA tournament champion.

Carolina will then face East Carolina on Saturday, December 17 at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena on the Neutral Floor in Greenville, South Carolina. 2017 NCAA Tournament.

South Carolina concludes the non-conference portion of the schedule with two home games against West Kentucky (December 22) and East Michigan (December 30).
