The NCAA and NAIA programs currently hold separate year-end championships. The NCAA program’s tournament is called the National Collegiate Women’s Wrestling Championship, and because women’s wrestling is still a new sport, it includes schools in Divisions I, II, and III.

The first NCWWC tournament will take place in 2020, and McKendry University (a Division II program located in Lebanon, Illinois) has won all three championships since its inception. Alexio Garcia has replaced Sam Schmitz as the Bearcats’ new coach and has a lot to work with during the inaugural campaign. On his team are his four returning national champions and his seven All-Americans, including three-time champion Sidney Kimber and his two-time champion Cameron Guerin.
