Akeem Olajuwon led the rocket to a 90-84 home victory in Round 7 of the NBA Finals. The New York Knicks led Series 3-2, but Rockets won a series of games at home.

Orajwon finished in Round 7 with 25 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. He played for 46 minutes. Vernon Maxwell also played a big game, finishing with 21 points.

Patrick Ewing had 17 points and 10 rebounds against Knicks. Derek Harper finished at 23.

New York was destined for horrific shootings, especially across the arc. As a team, they advanced to 4-20 with 3 points, and John Starks missed all his 11 attempts. He finished with 8 points with 2-18 shots. Orajwon blocked three potential titles in the Game 6 buzzer, but never bounced back.

Orajwon was selected as the final MVP. He led the NBA in points per game in the postseason. He averaged 28.9 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks per game in 23 post-season games.

The following season, he led Houston to a series of titles, re-elected as Finals MVP, and again leading the NBA in points per game in the postseason. He scored an average of 33 points per game in 22 playoff games in 1995.
