Heat urge gun reform during moment of silence for Uvalde

The Miami Heat celebrated a moment of silence ahead of Wednesday’s fifth round of the Eastern Conference final, in honor of the victims of the shootings at Rob Elementary School in Yuvalde, Texas.

Calling an attack that killed 19 students and two teachers and injured several others “meaningless,” Heat urges fans to contact a state senator who supports “common sense guns.” I urged and urged to register for voting.

The subpoena was filled with a warm reaction from the crowd.

Miami’s message following the moment of silence:

“The Heat calls 202-224-3121 to contact the State Senator and ask them to leave a message asking for support for common sense gun law. You can change it in the ballot box. Heat.com/vote Register this fall and let us hear your voice. “

Since Tuesday, gun control has once again become a major issue, especially in Florida, where the state’s Republican leadership is located. We are currently pushing for a change in state law that allows residents to carry hidden guns without permission... Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has promised that state Democrats will sign the bill before his term expires. Demanding the state legislature to move in the opposite direction..

Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra commented on Wednesday’s pre-match shooting and told reporters he wanted to see the action.

“Obviously yesterday was tragic news. The other day I left shootaround and went straight to school to pick up a boy before Game 1. My wife was a junior high school teacher. We were just devastated. In the news, I can’t even imagine what the community and family are feeling in that kind of scenario, and go to school and see all the police cars and everything.

“It’s just going on. I know everyone says they need to call for action. I think this forces people to understand it, including me. We have no answer, but we are asked to be able to force people who can actually make a difference.

The reaction to Yubaldi’s shooting comes from all over the sports world. Including MLB pitchers who participated in Rob Elementary.. Perhaps the strongest voice came from another NBA conference finals attended by Steve Kerr, head coach of the Golden State Warriors. Directly criticized Senate Republicans for refusing to vote on the background check bill..
