Orlando Magic is one of the luckiest expansion franchises of all time. Back-to-back lottery wins handed out Shaquille O’Neal and Penny Hardaway, allowing them to go from scratch to the NBA Finals in just six years. The Magic looked like the team of the future….but they weren’t. Losing Shaquille O’Neal played a big part in that, but so did a major injury, some bad moves, and some very good moves that backfired due to bad luck:
