How Should We Feel About the Wolves Draft Picks?

The Minnesota Timberwolves Entered 2022 NBA draft There are four picks to use. Those picks were picks 19, 40, 48, and 50. As the night went on, there wasn’t much action in the top 10 drafts. Then things started to move. Minnesota ended the night four players were chosen, but the road wasn’t as easy as it might be heard. The wolf didn’t use any of the first three picks, but he made a lot of deals and ended up with a choice of 22, 26, 45, and 50.

Hosts Brendan Hecke and Doug West come here to disassemble the picks and show their quick reaction to the latest episode of Timberwolves Brive.

Here’s a brief overview of the night:

Minnesota chose Auburn Center Walker Kessler for his first pick. Kessler was certainly not a fan favorite, but it fills many holes in the Timberwolves team that lack size, rim protection, and rebounds. Kessler was the National Defensive Player of the Year from 2021 to 22 and averaged over 4 blocks per game in Auburn.

Next, the wolf found himself on the 26th pick. They used this slot to choose the Duke Wing. Wendell Moore Junior Moore played for Blue Devils and Coach K for three seasons. He improves every year and seems to be a potential 3D type player in the NBA. He’s a bit smaller for a wing, 6 feet 5 high, but he makes up for it with a strength and wingspan of over 7 feet. He is also a solid playmaker who may be his best skill.

In the second round, the wolf traded back from pick 40 to pick 45 to raise future draft capital. They eventually adopted Josh Minott in their choice. Minott is a great athlete and plays with a lot of energy at 6’9, but his aggressive game is almost blank. There will be a lot to do on that side of the ball before he sniffs the spin.

Finally, Timberwolves took Matteos Panolo from Italy on # 50. Spagnolo will probably be a draft and stash player for a year or two. Due to his finesse playmaking, he is called “Italian Ricky Rubio”. He has also shown to be a solid shooter, but he lacks a lot of athletic and defensive power.
