BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — More new faces in creams and crimsons arrive ahead of the 2022-23 Indiana women’s basketball campaign. Next up is Oregon Transfer Guard Sidney Parrish.

Parrish is from Fishers, so he plans to return to his home state of Indiana. After leading Hamilton Southeastern High School to her 4A state title as a junior and finishing her high school career as the program’s all-time leading scorer, she won the 2020 Indiana Miss Her Basketball, McDonald’s All-American Award. and Jordan Brand named her a classic.

A graduate of Hamilton Southeastern High School, Sydney Parrish is a member of the 2019 High School Girls’ Basketball Superteam.

During his time with the Ducks, Parrish made two starts as a true freshman in 23 of 24 games for Oregon State. She has had her fifth double-figure scoring game, and has appeared in all three of her NCAA Tournament games in the 2021 Sweet 16 in Oregon.
Last season, Parrish appeared and started in 32 games, including the first round loss to the Belmont of the NCAA Tournament.
It used to be a 34-hour drive from her home, but now she can give or take from Bloomington’s Simon Scujot Assembly Hall and be back at Fisher’s in an hour and a half.

“We are so happy to have Sydney back in Indiana,” said Indiana manager Terry. Morren said April when Parrish announced her decision.

We hire the best players.” And Sydney definitely fits that mold. What stands out most about her is her competitiveness. She’s tough and plays hard.”

Parrish brings height to the Hoosiers team at 6 feet 2 inches tall. While in Oregon, she shot 36.7% on field goals and 34.7% on three-point lines, totaling 410 points. Last season she averaged 8.5 points per game. And her 3.3 rebounds contributed as much as she could on the floor.
“In my opinion, Sydney is the best pure shooter in the country, but she’s more than that. She can score in multiple ways.

“She is a bowler, leader, winner, versatile, hoop addict with a very high basketball IQ. He’s one of those people and he’s going to be great in our locker room.”
She also has a great social media presence on TikTok with 186,800 followers and has posted several Hoosier-oriented videos expressing her excitement playing for Indiana.
