IU basketball publishes new details for the 2022-23 team – The Daily Hoosier

Indiana Basketball has published an official list update on iuhoosiers.com.

The main update to the roster is the addition of four classes of freshmen in 2022.

In the new release, you can first see the freshman jersey number and its height and weight.

We also looked at repeater height and weight updates and the addition of new walk-ons.

Details of Fresh Men

Jalen Hood-Sifino Pittsburgh / Charlotte products are listed at £ 6ft-6 and £ 215, making them one of the highest IU point guards to date. Rob Finize was in first place last season.

Hood-Schifino is the most acclaimed freshman in Big Ten.

Malik Renault I will wear number 5. So walk-on Michael Shipp had to give up that number. Renault will be the first scholarship player to wear No. 5 since Troy Williams. Miami products are listed as 6 feet 9 pounds and 235 pounds. Shipp will be wearing the number 4 worn by Christian Lander last season.

Reneau is a teammate at the Montverde Academy’s Hood-Schifino and has won consecutive national championships.

Caleb Bank I will wear number 10. Products in Fayetteville, Georgia are priced at £ 6ft £ 7 and £ 200. Finize was also the last player to wear number 10.

Banks was the Georgia Class 4A Player of the Year and scored 2,000 points in the Fayette County HS.

CJ gun Wear number 11, one of the more iconic numbers in IU. Originally from Indianapolis, he is listed at £ 6ft £ 6 and £ 186. Famous Hoosiers such as Isaiah Thomas, Dane Fife and Yogi Ferrell wear number 11. The walk-on Shaan Burke is back and has changed the jersey number to 13 to accommodate Gunn.

Originally from the Lawrence North HS program, which created Eric Montross, Greg Oden, Mike Conley, and many others, Gunn, according to his profile on the IU site, has school history in terms of points per game average. The best leader ever.

Changes in height and weight

Here are the updates from last season’s list:

  • Tamar Bates dropped £ 3 from 193 to 190.
  • Logan Duncom has won 1 inch and 1 pound. He is currently listed as 6ft-10 and 235.

(Note: IU Athletics changed a lot of weights after this story was published)

New walk-on

The roster lists Hogan Orvault as an addition to the team. Orbaugh came from Zionsville, Indiana, along with his fellow walk-on Nathan Childress.

Junior forward Orbaugh was a student assistant last year under the Athletic Performance Cliff Marshall Director of Men’s Basketball.

Orbaugh was previously a walk-on in Louisville, playing in seven career games as a Cardinals walk-on, scoring 3 points and adding 1 rebound. He is listed with exactly the same height and weight as Race Thompson (6ft-8lbs and 235lbs).

Last season’s walk-on, Sebastian Scott, is no longer on the roster.
