James Brown commits to North Carolina

The UNC Basketball Program added another commitment to the 2024 class as James Brown announced his intention to join Tar Heels.

Last week, the UNC Basketball Program significantly improved its recruiting classes for 2024.

First, five-star Elliott Caddo announced his joining Tar Heels. A few days later, four-star tycoon James Brown decided he too was bound to Chapel Hill.

The 6-foot-9-inch big man from Chicago is considered the #1 overall player from Illinois by 247Sports and the #27 overall ranked player in his class. I’m here. Brown chose Tar Heels over the likes of Michigan, Illinois, Notre Dame, and Missouri.

With the addition of Cado and Brown, the Tar Heels now have three players in the 2024 class. This duo joins Drake and Powell in the Tar Heels Recruit class.

What is this brown said On his decision to join the UNC basketball program:

“Ultimately I chose North Carolina because of the relationships I was able to develop with coaches (Hubert) Davis and coaches (Sean) May. “It really resonated with me to see how Davis expressed his emotions and went all out for his players.”

Based on his comments, head coach Hubert Davis and assistant coach Sean May had a significant influence on his final decision. Given the legacy May has built as a tar heel, it’s only fitting that another talented big man wants to make his mark on Chapel Hill.

Not only did Brown add the types of players the UNC Basketball program will acquire, but he also sent a message to his loyal Tar Heels through an interview with On3.

“North Carolina is acquiring players of high character, high integrity, and passion who are willing to contribute as much as they can to help North Carolina maintain its historic reputation.

So excited to be Tar Heel and step into Chapel Hill… Ride Tar Heel Country, JB is coming!!!”
