As announced by the 34-year-old InstagramLin is back in China’s CBA once again, signing a contract with the Guangzhou Long Lions for 2022-23.
“The journey continues! I feel like a kid trying to make a basketball dream come true,” Lin wrote in the caption to a series of photos featuring herself in the outfit she wore in Guangzhou. There was also a snap of Bala putting pen to paper.
Lin is no stranger to the CBA, having spent last season and the 2019-20 season with the Beijing Shougang Ducks.
Lynn was rough last season
With the Knicks’ heyday behind him and injuries affecting his game, Lin has struggled to hold onto his spot in the state in the last few seasons.During the 2020-21 season , he made one last attempt to rejoin the league by joining the Warriors’ G League affiliate in Santa Cruz.
He also pleaded not guilty to the Sea Dubs, but was ultimately not given an NBA shot. 50.5% of shots overall and 42.6% of triples.
However, he faced incredible adversity during his return to China last season. As reported by the South China Morning Post (archived), Lynn contracted COVID-19 and his case was so bad that he was hospitalized as a result.
When Lin returned to hardwood, he battled the after-effects of COVID-19 and it proved to be a long process to regain his former appearance. As a result, he averaged just 13.7 points and 4.4 assists per out with the Ducks last season, a marked step back from his previous stints with the club.
“I was so tired that I couldn’t breathe, so to me, this path may seem more difficult than the others,” he said at the time.

Lynn’s career overview
In 480 career NBA games over nine seasons with the Dubs, Knicks, Houston Rockets, LA Lakers, Charlotte Hornets, Brooklyn Nets, Atlanta Hawks and Toronto Raptors, Lynn averaged 11.6 points, 4.3 assists and 2.8 rebounds per game. , scoring 1.1 steals. Post a shooting split of 43-34-81.
