Johnny Davis would relish chance with Knicks

Jonathan Davis was one of the best players in the country last year, changing from a role player to a big ten player of the year.

Now, the 6’5 prominent figure will hear his name called in the NBA draw. And one of the teams of interest is Knicks. Davis may call New York City his hometown.

“Tom Thibodeau feels the defensive end is very high, so I think he can have an immediate impact on the defensive end, especially if drafted by the Knicks,” he said in a zoom on Monday.

Davis is better known for his attacks in Wisconsin, attacking badgers with an average of 19.7 points, 8.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists, but one scout said his defenses were underestimated. The scout also said that his low 3-point shot rate (which hit only 30.6 percent from the depth of this past season compared to 38.9 last season) was the type of shot he had to take. I believe it’s not a big concern for me.

“He is incredibly competitive,” said the scout. “Play both ends of the floor. You can always reach his midrange jumper.”

Davis didn’t work for Knicks, but he told them in a draft combine, and if they couldn’t move up from the 11th overall pick for one of their favorite point guards. , Purdue’s Jaden Ivey Or, Dyson Daniels of the G League Ignite, who surrounds RJ Barrett with talented bidirectional wings like Davis, makes sense.

Given the uncertainties of free agent Mitchell Robinson, Duke Center’s Marc Williams could be an option for Knicks to choose at 11. Helping Duke reach the final four, producing 11.2 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.8 blocks per game, Williams at 7ft 2 trained individually for Knicks.

“It worked. I feel like I was chasing it,” Williams said. “All the drills we’ve done feel pretty good. As long as it fits, what I bring to the team right away is to run the floor, catch lobs, protect and protect the rims, Only those who want to win. Ultimately, [those are] The largest thing you can bring in from the first day. ”

LSU Wing’s Tari Eason said he had a group workout with Knicks, predicted to go everywhere from the late lottery to his early twenties. Similar to MarJon Beauchamp, the G League elite wing, Eason could be Knicks’ choice if Knicks moved down in the draft.

The NBA announced the Las Vegas Summer League schedule on Monday. Knicks will open with the Warriors on July 8th at 8pm EDT. You’ll also face the Bulls at 5pm on July 10th, the Trail Blazers at 11pm on July 11th, and Magic at 7:30 pm on July 14th. All teams play at least one playoff game.
