Johnson, Damm Win Doubles Title to Close Out UCF Fall Sizzler

orlando, florida – The FGCU men’s tennis team wrapped up the UCF Fall Sizzler on Sunday. Magnus Johnson (Naples, FL/Homeschool/UCF) and Senior max dam (Bradenton, Fla./St. Stephen’s Episcopal School) won the ice doubles title.

FGCU Led by 3-Time ASUN Coach of the Year CJ Weberhas coached 32 ASUN All-Conference selections since joining Green and Blue in 2011. In his 11th year, Weber compiled his 118-94 (.583) overall record and his 50-20 (.721) record in his ASUN play. In the 2014-15 season, Weber led the Eagles to his first-ever ASUN Championship and first-ever ASUN regular season title, with his program-high 17 wins. In his third season, Weber led the Jordi Vives to No. 35 national rankings, a 14-game unbeaten streak, and achieved his 32nd round (program first appearance) in the 2014 NCAA Tournament. The Eagles have completed his ASUN regular season flawlessly in both 2015 and 2016, earning him the conference title and Weber’s Coach of the Year Award. FGCU won his 2017 ASUN Championship again, making his second NCAA appearance. The Eagles have returned to the top of the mountain with 2019 regular season and tournament championships. Weber won his third ASUN Coach of the Year award and led Green and Blue to his third NCAA Tournament.

A united FGCU team has won 92 conference regular season and tournament titles in just 15 seasons at the Division I level. Additionally, in just 11 seasons that qualified for the DI postseason, the Eagles have collectively qualified for 45 teams or individuals to the NCAA Championship.
