Jose Alvarado rescues Pelicans from potentially devastating defeat in 119-106 victory over Rockets

of new orleans pelicans It got 10.5 points of support.they finally houston rockets They won slightly more than that, 119-106, but the results were highly questionable.

The problem is, the Rockets shouldn’t have entered the fourth quarter enjoying a 1-point lead and pinned things down like that. The Pelicans held a 78-60 lead with his 7:24 mark of his third, and until that point, they were using his control Cruz.

The first 12 minutes saw a perfect performance from an attacking point of view. He had 11 assists in his 34 points for the Pelicans. This was accompanied by one turnover, with 11.1 seconds remaining, Ousmane Galba stole the ball from Jonas Valanciunas at the post.

The duo of Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram and Larry Nance Jr. hit a perfect 10-10 from the floor, with Devonte ‘Graham hitting two of the three field goals. The entire team didn’t miss a free throw either, knocking down all seven attempts.

The Pelicans extended their lead to 18 in the second frame and entered halftime with a 63-50 lead.

Five-thirds of a minute then, Jalen Green happened about the same time New Orleans stopped playing for all intents and purposes.

Green scored 15 of a game-high 33 points to revive the Rockets. The Pelicans did little to dissuade him, he literally knocked down three of his 3-pointers from the same side of the floor.

During that huge Houston run, the Pelicans suffered six turnovers and made only three of their 11 shots. was reached only once.

Playing as badly as the Rockets did in the first 29 minutes, the Pelicans practically mirrored their poor performance afterwards. Well, until Jose Alvarado said good enough for the fourth.

Alvarado’s 3-point shot breathed the Pelicans into action, shocking the crowd and closing an eight-point deficit to five.

Less than two minutes later, the patented Grand Theft Alvarado steal and score, along with Jose Arena chants, created yet another “I think I can” sensation.

“Just play defense, pick it up full[on the court]get into certain players’ heads, take steals and do little things,” Alvarado said. “We have the big guys. I don’t care about the scores. I just want to do little things. Make sure I box out, get all the rebounds, miss the rebounds.” If so, say, “Okay, I have to pick up my stuff.” That’s why it’s important to try to be a leader in your own role and try to be a star in your own role.

Following another steal, the rest of Jose’s teammates joined the fray.

Nance, who finished with 20 points and nine rebounds, had multiple key offensive boards to help close the deficit.

Williamson added 6 points to rebuild the Pelicans’ lead.

He finished with 26 points, but honestly he could have scored more than 40. The Rockets had no answer for him and never brought a full-fledged double team. One-on-one, he bullied Jabari Smith and Usman Galba. This is evidenced by his 8-of-9 shooting successes and his 10-of-12 frees from his throw line.

Finally, Ingram helped close out the win with a 21-footer that proved the final nail in Houston’s coffin.

BI was headed for a down performance, but his strong closing produced a line of 20 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals.

The most interesting thing witnessed that night was Willie Green’s drastic change in player rotation.

“We start early in the game and try not to fall short of eight or nine points,” said Green. “So we wanted to adjust the substitution pattern a bit. We’ll continue to see. Again, I like the current situation with our team. In order to become a team that I think we can do, we are going to play some difficult matches.

Previously, Jose Alvarado and Trey Murphy were the first players off the bench, with Williamson always sitting first after about six minutes of action.

Tonight, Nance was the first player to come off the bench, replacing Jonas Valanciunas in about seven minutes of the first and third quarters.

While Graham overtook Alvarado, Jose scored more minutes than his reserve backcourt partner in the first and second halves.

Given that New Orleans was directly responsible for regaining momentum, closing out with Jose seems like a good idea.

Reserve point guards are always lax and always find ways to generate turnovers, but his two 3-pointers in the 4th quarter were as big as any other steal.

“Jose was the X factor in this piece,” said Williamson. “His energy, his consistency on the ball, his pressure really held us up in the fourth quarter.”

Alvarado finished with 12 points, 5 assists and 3 steals before being ejected after a minor altercation with Kevin Porter Jr., who was also thrown.

But before he left, he raised the roof. More than once. And the crowd roared in response every time Alvarado called for more noise.

Williamson told media after the game that he would pay any potential NBA fines for Alvarado’s ejection. And if the situation arises, he will do the same to Naj Marshall and Herb Jones.

The best way to summarize this game is that the pelicans have escaped.Wasn’t he an undrafted rookie? Georgia Techthey probably dropped another game to an opponent who lives in or near the basement of the Western Conference.

Thank you Jose.
