Joshua Primo allegedly exposed himself to women

San Antonio Spurs unguard Joshua Primo His 12th overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft was attributed to multiple instances of his alleged exposure to women, sources told ESPN on Saturday.

The decision to release Primo on Friday night was sudden and shocking, and spoke to the seriousness of the issues surrounding the promising 19-year-old player.

The team recently won a $4.3 million 2023-24 option on Primo’s contract.

Many NBA teams are still interested in Primo’s talent and potential, but are considering the possibility of acquiring him before clearing waivers and becoming a free agent on Monday afternoon. I’m trying to understand the situation more fully.

To claim a primo, the team needs either available cap space, or an exception for a trading player with enough money to absorb his $4.1 million salary this year. It also has to pay $4.3 million under its 2023-2024 contract.

In a statement to ESPN Friday night, Primo acknowledged the need to continue with “a more complete mental health treatment.”

“We know you’re surprised by today’s announcement,” Primo said in a statement. “I have sought help in dealing with the trauma I have suffered in the past, but this time I will take time to focus more on my mental health treatment so that we can discuss these issues in the future. I hope I can become better and be able to help others who are suffering.I appreciate your privacy at this time.”

Primo averaged 5.9 points in 54 career games for the Spurs, including 16 starts as a rookie.

He has appeared in the Spurs’ first four games this season, averaging 7.0 points off the bench. Primo was waived about an hour ago at Minnesota Wednesday, where he didn’t play against the Timberwolves and Friday at home against the Bulls in Chicago.

“Over the long term, we hope this decision is in the best interests of both the organization and Joshua,” Spurs CEO RC Buford said in a statement.
