Kansas women’s basketball looking like an NCAA Tournament team

of kansas women’s basketball The team quietly got off to the best start of any team in the country.

The undefeated Jayhawks have been on tour all week, beating previously undefeated No. 12 Arizona by a staggering 27 points (77-50). They followed suit with an easy 72-52 win over an 8-1 Wichita State team at Allen Fieldhouse.

Beating Arizona was a team win Larger than Ranked Opponents Since 1996.

Jayhawks is currently 9-0 and should be in the top 25 when the AP polls are released on Monday. If they are ranked, it is Since January 14, 2013.

The Kansas team was selected fifth in the Big 12 preseason polls, and we believe they can exceed expectations.

“I thought last year was a perfect example of how we believed in the team more than when others picked us 10th (to finish).” Head coach Brandon Schneider said after the win over Wichita State:“It’s no different than being picked 5th[this year]. I think our players probably felt like they were a little bit better than that. It’s a good thing to use as motivation, whether it’s an individual.”

The Jayhawks are led this season by a talented pair of senior guards holly karthgita and center Tyanna Jackson.

Kasgita is averaging 13.8 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. Jackson, meanwhile, is averaging a double-double of 15.4 points and 10.6 rebounds per game.

The team has two other players with double-digit scoring averages at senior guards Zakia Franklin (13.3 points) and junior guard Wyvette Mayberry (10.4 points).

Having four double-digit scorers and lots of seniors is a good recipe for success in March.

The Jayhawks made it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament a season ago, eventually losing to Final 4 entrant Stanford, but the team could go further if it continues on its current path. It has potential.

The Jayhawks are on their way to victory as they have two more non-conference matchups against Tulsa (8-2) and Nebraska (8-3) before the Big 12 games begin on December 31. I hope you continue.
