Knicks Notes: Randle, Payne, Mitchell, Anthony

of Knicks You may want to find takers for Julius Randlebut they weren’t going to let go of a potential trading first-round pick. Athletic Fred Katz I wrote about it in his latest Mailbag column.

Randle is about to enter the first season of the four-year, $117 million extension he signed after earning All-NBA Second Team honors in 2020/21. That price tag makes it difficult to move him without other assets attached. Katz notes that Randle finished last in effective field goal percentage last season among 112 players evaluated by Basketball Reference, and that when he was on the court, the Knicks had 100 possessions. It was getting worse by nearly 10 points per.

But Katz believes Randall’s work was affected by the rest of the roster. I’m here. Jalen Brunsonand probably Donovan Mitchellwhich should have a positive effect on Randle.
