125: #1 Spencer Lee (Iowa) Tech Fall Marco Vespa (Penn State) 18-2

1st period: Vespa scored on a low single with a quick whistle, but Lee came back to tie the score at 2-2. Lee scored a four-point tilt with 2:04 left to take a 6-2 lead. Lee scored four more points with 1:23 to take a 10-2 lead. Lee picked up another 4-point near his fall with his tilt with 1:03 remaining and scored another 4-point tilt with his technical fall at 18-2.

1st period: Woods hits a low shot that is countered by Bartlett before Bartlett attempts a headlock out of bounds and returns to neutral. His first 20 seconds of action are great. Still 0-0. Woods singled and maintained his staying power midway through the period to give him a 2–0 lead. Woods survived the period to his 2–0 lead.

Second period: Bartlett starts bottom and runs away quickly, but Woods still leads 2-1. No points for the rest of the period.

Third period: Woods starts at the bottom and Bartlett gives Woods a 3-1 lead. Agree with Woods. Bartlett tries to score in the final seconds, but Woods wins 4-1 on riding time.

1st period: Van Ness slides with 1 minute remaining, but Murin counters. No score yet. Murin singled, but Van Ness rolled and still had no score.

Second period: Van Ness starts on the bottom and Murin climbs in. Van Ness stood up and sat down to take a 1-0 lead.

3rd period: Murrin chooses down. Murin has tied the game 1-1, but still has riding time. Murrin hit his double low with 35 seconds remaining to take a 3–1 lead. Murin was hit by a stall on his call in the closing stages, but that’s okay. Murin won 4-1 in riding time.

1st period: A low single puts Haynes in, but the stalemate is called with 30 seconds remaining. Haynes gets in with another shot, but Sibrecht rolls through and has a potentially dangerous call. No score.

2nd period: Haynes runs a thrilling flurry of blows for a 1-0 lead before bottoming out and escaping. After a great scramble to start the period, the rest of the period is scoreless.

Third period: Sibrecht started bottom of the table and ran away with seven seconds to tie the score at 1-1. Haynes scored a high-crotch takedown on a single for a 3-1 lead. Siebrecht escapes after a few seconds and is delayed by a second. Siebrecht tries to get into slow position but forces Haynes out of bounds. Haynes had a shot at the end of the period, but no points were scored. Haynes won his 3-2.

Iowa 11, Pennsylvania 9

1st period: No score in the middle of the period. No goals in the first half.

2nd period: Kennedy starts at the bottom and exits with 5 seconds to spare. Facundo tried to duck down, but it flew at Kennedy. Kennedy still leads 1-0 at the end of the period.

Third period: Facundo started bottom of the table and escaped with 13 seconds to tie the score at 1-1. No points for the rest of the period.

Sudden victory: Kennedy singled in the first 30 seconds, but was in a stalemate with 1:07 remaining. Kennedy locked the cradle after firing, but he was called a stalemate after Facundo began to wiggle. No score.

Tiebreaker: Kennedy out in 4 of 30 seconds. Facundo he chooses neutral for 30 seconds. Facundo attempted a firefighter/high crotch, Kennedy dropped his hips, and Kennedy won 2–1.

2nd period: Staroch bottoms out and exits at 19 seconds. The rest of the period was scoreless, but Brands received a stall warning late.

1st period: Brooks doubled to start the period, leading 2-0, but quickly escaped to make it 2-1. Another double makes it 4-1 and an escape makes him 4-2. 6-2 with an ankle pick. With 45 seconds left Brooks tilted his four points to make it 10-2.

2nd period: Rhodes chooses down, Rhodes exits in 5 seconds. Rhodes and Brooks get takedowns when they miss shots, but Rhodes escapes, but Brooks scores on an immediate double, 14-4. Scored on a single on Brooks’ escape to take an 18–6 lead at the end of the period. Ride time is locked.

Third period: Brooks starts in neutral, quickly gets a takedown, and Rhodes runs away. An ankle pick then gave Brooks his 22-7 tech with 1:15 remaining.

Pennsylvania 17, Iowa 14

197: #2 Max Dean (Penn State) dec. #10 Jacob Warner (Iowa), 2-0

1st period: No score.

Second period: Dean chooses down. Dean pressures Warner and nearly reverses, but settles for an escape and a 1-0 lead.

Third period: Warner bottoms out. Warner gets up, but Dean puts him back on the mat. Call Warner in the middle of the period. Dean takes over a minute of riding time with 12 seconds remaining to win 2-0.

Pennsylvania 20, Iowa 14

1st period: Kerkvliet singles for a 2-0 lead on the treetops. Casioppi ran away with 45 seconds remaining to cut the lead in half.

Second period: Cassioppi picks the bottom and Kerkvliet rides out the entire period.

3rd period: Kerkvliet bottomed out, but Cassioppi gave him an escape to start the period. Kerkfleet takes his 3-1 lead.
