Syracuse Men’s Basketball Outstanding Longtime coach Louis Orr died Thursday at the age of 64.

Syracuse Men’s Basketball said on Twitter, “Mourning the loss of an Orange legend. A player, coach and most importantly, a great man who made everyone around him better.
“The memory of Louis Orr will live forever in our hearts, especially whenever we look up at his number 55 in the rafters of the dome.”
Orr spent eight years in the NBA, playing two seasons and six seasons with the Indiana Pacers, who selected him in the second round (29th overall) of the 1980 NBA Draft. new york knicks.

Orr took a year off before heading to Bowling Green for the next seven years. He was named MAC Coach of the Year in his 2009 and was there until 2014. From 2017 until 2022, Orr was Georgetown’s assistant.
