LSU Women’s Basketball 2022-23 Schedule Announced – LSU

Baton Rouge – The full schedule for the upcoming LSU women’s basketball season was announced Wednesday morning along with the Southeastern Conference.

This season will be LSU’s second season for head coach Kim Mulkey. She is the first head in SEC history to achieve the highest turnaround by her coach, helping to win the AP National Coach of the Year award. Under Coach Malkey’s leadership, the Tigers went 26-6, finished second in the SEC, and played in the NCAA Tournament in the first round and he hosted the second-round game, but lost out to WNBA Draft pick Kyla Poynter. After losing many seniors, including Faustin Aihuwa. , the Tigers will look to LSU’s many freshman players to keep Marquee’s momentum going.

Coach Malkey brought in a star-studded freshman class including Frauje Johnson, Samaire Smith, Alisa Williams and Izzy Besselman. LSU also added Angel Reese (Maryland), the top transfer player in this year’s cycle, and Last Tiapore (Northwest he Florida State), his top Juco player in the nation. Jasmine Carson (West Virginia), Kateripool (Ohio) and Radazia Williams (Missouri) are his three roster additions to the transfer portal. The nine new additions look to mesh with key contributors from last year’s squad, including Hannah Gusters, Alexis Morris and Ryan Payne.

The Tigers’ non-conference schedule is highlighted by a trip to Maui the week before Christmas, as well as a trip to Bimini, Bahamas for Thanksgiving’s Goombay splash. The Tigers will face Oregon State in the Maui He Classic, with another team yet to be announced.

On December 3, LSU’s only true road game of non-conference play will take place when the Tigers travel to New Orleans to face Tulane.

The Tigers will play their first five games of the season at the PMAC, starting on November 7 against Bellarmin. Mississippi Valley moved him to Baton Rouge on November 11, followed by him to West Carolina on November 13, Houston Baptist on November 16, and Northwestern State on November 20.

Following LSU’s Thanksgiving trip to the Bahamas for George Mason and UAB, LSU will return home to host Southeastern on November 29th before traveling to Tulane on December 3rd. 14 vs Lamar. The Tigers are expected to complete their non-conference schedule against Oregon State in Maui and one additional opponent to be announced on December 17-18.

To kick off conference play, LSU will travel to Fayetteville on December 29 to face Arkansas at the Bud Walton Arena. LSU’s first home game in the SEC is on New Year’s Day, and LSU will host Vanderbilt at Baton Rouge for another home game on January 5 against Texas A&M.

LSU will be in the next two games at Memorial Coliseum in Kentucky on January 8th and Columbia against Missouri on January 12th. The Tigers will play Auburn on January 15th and Arkansas on January 19th. The trip to Tuscaloosa continues on his January 23rd before Goodbye Week.

Following the bye, LSU will play Tennessee at home on January 30th. The Tigers will stay home and face Georgia on February 2nd.

As the season begins to close, LSU will be out with 4 of their final 6 games. The Tigers will face Texas A&M at College Station on his Jan. 5 and gear up to face the defending national champion South Carolina Gamecocks at Colonial Life Arena on Feb. 12.

LSU will return to the PMAC to host Ole Miss on February 16, facing Florida in Gainesville on February 19, and Vanderbilt in Nashville on February 23. The regular season ends in Baton Rouge on his February 26th. When the Tigers host Mississippi.

The SEC and SEC Network will announce the telecast schedule at a later date.

This year’s SEC tournament will be held March 1-5 at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina.

The 2023 NCAA Women’s Basketball Selection Show will take place on Sunday, March 12, with March Madness play scheduled to begin later that same week.
