Mac McClung shining for Warriors in NBA Summer League

Be an cynic and start by clarifying something: Golden State Warriors You probably won’t sign Mac McClung. And that’s probably a good thing.

If that upsets you, jump on your handy dandy garage time machine and return to August of last year in 2021. Las Vegas Summer League It was held.

That year, the Warriors team also had Mac McClung. Except at that time, his name was “Kyle Guy”.

The man appeared in the Warriors. He fit the system. He made three bundles. He moved fluidly and played better than their famous rookie.

I was in the Summer League that year, and how I wrote Man must have a two-way contract at least.

He wasn’t. His Summer League stint was the beginning and end of his warrior’s journey. He didn’t play any team’s NBA games until New Year’s Eve, playing less than 200 minutes throughout the season.

The Summer League can be a little deceptive.

Enter McClung.

McLang made his NBA debut a year ago and Chicago Bulls And for just one game Los Angeles Lakers.. And now he’s on the Dove’s Summer League roster, where he’s doing shows.

He scored 17 points in the Vegas opener, shot 7 to 13 from the field and made all three shots across the arc. He had 22 points in their second game. He has 14 assists throughout 3 games.

If he wasn’t used to McLung, he created an internet sensation in high school with his high-flying flights, emphasized dunks, and streetball movements. He was mostly noteworthy because he looked like a junior college second baseman.

So he’s petite and white, and when stereotyped, he looks more at home on the ranch than on the gym.

Reputation followed him to college, where he proved that he could play basketball really well-although he has always become best known for his stunning and unexpected highlights.

The Warriors aren’t on the market in search of an inexperienced 6’2 guard unless they play a Gary Payton II-style defense that McLang didn’t do last.

But there’s always the possibility to see in him something that suggests that the Summer League performance is more than just the Summer League performance. Imagine Bob Myers taking off McLung’s glasses, pulling his hair down, and taking him to a shopping that turned from a nerdy girl to a sex icon in all the romantic comedies of the 90’s.

If so … can you imagine a take?

With another shiny Larry O’Brien Trophy for their fast filling case, the Warriors have returned to a state of “ruining the league.”

NBA fans moan as Dante Divinchenzo has always been one of the league’s elite role players this year. NBA fans will see when one (or two, or three …) of James Wiseman, Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody, Patrick Baldwin Jr., and Ryan Rollins will be replaced by Jordan Poole this year. To round.

What if YouTube star McLang, who sent more PR emails than his manager played in the NBA for a few minutes last year, has become a genuine, high-quality NBA role player for all teams of Warriors?

chaos.

The Warriors will almost certainly not sign him. But if so, that’s a good reason.

And shit, the reason would be fun.
