Men’s Basketball Announces Non-Conference Schedule

Following a series of NCAA tournament appearances, Clayton’s non-conference schedule could be ranked among the toughest in the history of the program.

The slate will begin on Sunday, October 30th with a home exhibition game with Drury. McDermott’s team is 29-0 in the fall exhibition game as Head Coach of Division I, including the 12-0 mark at Clayton.

Clayton’s first four regular season matches will take place at CHI Health Center Omaha. This will begin on November 7th with a match against St. Thomas University. Clayton has always been 8 to 1 against Tommy’s, including the wins of the opening rounds of 1970-71 and 1976-77.

Clayton will host North Dakota on November 10th to play against the Fighting Hawks and welcome Holy Cross to play against Jesuit opponents in Omaha on November 14th. The Blue Jays and Crusader’s haven’t met in hardwood since 1956. The Blue Jays closed the opening game of the home game on November 17th with their first meeting with the University of California, Riverside.

The next three weeks at CU will feature seven games against some of the best teams in the United States. The stretch begins with three matches at Maui Jim Maui Invitational in Hawaii. CU will face Fields featuring Arizona, Arkansaw, Cincinnati, Louisville, Ohio, San Diego and Texas Tech on November 21, November 22, and November 23. The bracket will be announced next month.

Jaze will return to the mainland when playing in the Big 12 – Big East Battle in Texas on December 1st. Longhorns is projected as the top 15 teams in next year’s pre-season poll under head coach Chris Beard.

State rival Nebraska will be arriving at CHI Health Center Omaha on December 4th to play Clayton’s final non-conference home game of the season. The Blue Jays have won 10 of the last 11 meetings with the Cornhusks.

The Blue Jays conclude non-conference play with a pair of neutral site games in Las Vegas, and CHI Health Center Omaha is preparing to host the NCAA Volleyball Championship. CU will face BYU on December 10th and will head to Arizona two days later. Both contests will be held at Michelob Ultra Arena at Mandalay Bay Resort.

Clayton’s 10 20 Game Meeting Schedule^th The Big East season will be released in September. The 2023 Big East Tournament is scheduled for March 8-11 and will be held again at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
