  3. How Many Rebounds Does Kobe Brown Grab?
  4. How many points does Isiaih Mosley have?
  5. What will be the final score?

Fans of pure high-scoring offense, behold.

undefeated missouri tigers The (5-0), averaging 91.8 points per game, welcome Columbia tonight to the sixth-best scoring offense in the nation, also known as the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers (2-1).

Selected eighth in the Sun Belt Conference, the Coastal Carolina program will make its third trip to Missouri as the second half of a two-game road trip for veteran heavy Chanticleers. Their first game was a 79-78 loss to USC Upstate with 10 seconds left to win.

Meanwhile, the Tigers welcome a sixth different team to Missouri Arena at their early-season homestand. Mizzou beat Mississippi’s Valley State University last game, 83-62, and the Tigers trailed him by more than 20 points to complete his third straight win.

In this matchup, KenPom’s 52nd and 188th teams will face each other, suggesting a possible explosion. But Chanticleers is no stranger to upsets early in the season. Last season, at a similar location, Costal Carolina beat South Carolina 80-56. Tonight, they hope to do the same against another SEC challenger.

Meet Coastal Carolina Chanticleers

What happens when you combine the nation’s 6th-best offensive team with the nation’s 4th-best rebounding team?

coastal Carolina.

Chanticleers is one of three programs ranked in the top six in both categories, an opponent Mizzou has never faced before.

and center A key driver of their success is Essam Mostafa, who averages 16.3 points and 13.3 rebounds per game. Juniors live in the post, utilizing a 6-foot-9 frame to frame rebounds and shine points in the paint category for box scores.

Joining Mostafa is Coastal Carolina top scorer Jomal Brown. The super senior from Eastern Kentucky has transferred his guard, Brown, off the bench where he’s averaging 21.7 points per game. His hot starts off the field (58.3%) and his range from three-pointers (61.5%) make him a deadly threat from anywhere on the court.

Behind these two forces, Chanticleers offers double-figure scorers in Josh Wuduje and Linton Brown, and another strong rebounder in Will Likai. The former duo totaled 29.0 points per game and Likai added 8.3 rebounds per game.

Head coach Cliff Ellis leads the veteran-led Coastal Carolina Chanticleers, made up entirely of freshmen and sophomores. Ellis has been his college basketball coach for the past 48 seasons and will enter his 16th season at Coastal Carolina this year. His 819 wins among experienced veteran coaches rank him third among active coaches and his tenth among all basketball coaches at NCAA Division I colleges.

Behind Ellis, with a six-day hiatus from their last game, Coastal Carolina will be a serious threat. A strength built on experience, a powerful offense, and one of Mizo’s main weaknesses, his rebound, will test the Tigers in an unfamiliar way later this evening.

three keys to the game

  1. Attack the three-point line quickly and efficiently

Coastal Carolina holds only 27.1% of their opponents across the arc, but with the only loss, USC Upstate shoots 50% from long range. Breaking those points early is key if Mizzou wants to expose his Chanticleers defense and maintain a high-tempo pace.

The Tigers have the ability to score from that range thanks to Domoy Hodge and Nick Honor, so those two need to step up big. Three-point An early spree from his land not only allows Mizzou to establish his own tempo, but forces Coastal Carolina to catch up.

  1. Make board battles competitive

Rebound, rebound, more rebound.

Here’s a recipe for a Coastal Carolina that holds a +19 rebound margin. The Tigers, on the other hand, are showing a rebound margin of -0.6, highlighting a clear weakness in a team that isn’t doing much outside the glass.

The game can easily be ugly for Mizzou on board, so being competitive will be a key factor in determining who comes out victorious. The Tigers lost their rebounding match against MSVU last time around, so they will need a stronger performance this time around.

Mizzou expects to have Mohamed Diarra, Mabor Majak, or both early in the game, but also expects Aidan Shaw and Kobe Brown to step up in the rebounding department. If the Tigers don’t get within at least his 10 rebounds of Chanticlears, Mizzou fans, take note…

  1. Continue to control turnover rate

One of Mizzou’s biggest advantages this young season is his ability to force opponent turnovers and limit his own turnovers. This would allow the Tigers to mark his 21st best assist/turnover percentage in the nation.

Against the high-scoring offense that Coastal Carolina is known for, defensive pressure becomes so important that forcing mistakes and capitalizing on missed opportunities can be game-changing. Once again, Hodge and Honor will be the main leaders in this category and will need to continue their early season success to prevent any upsets.

Game prediction

Kenpom Prediction: Mizou 84 | Coastal Carolina 69

My Prediction: Mizou 98 | Coastal Carolina 86

this is going to be fun.

This Thanksgiving Eve, Mizo and Coastal Carolina bring all the intensity and power of family gatherings. eat scoring competition. Good luck to those who bet, because the points come as quickly as the scoops and plates of potatoes across the country fill up.

However, it is the Tigers’ defense that ultimately decides the victory. Hodge and Honor use the pressure to once again take advantage of the fastbreak opportunity to add another strong defensive performance. I think Kobe Brown also needs to put in a strong effort, especially on the board, and Mizzou will give you another thing to thank on Thursday when the Tigers are feasting at 6-0. prize.
