With the Chicago White Sox winning the AA division title in 2021 and a playoff spot in the shortened 2020 season, expectations were high for 2022. But thanks to the American League Central’s perimeter weakness, the White Sox were just three games behind him in first place. Similarly, sports line The projection system gives them a 49.4% chance of making the postseason, the highest odds of any team in AL Central.

Against that backdrop, Jon Morosi reports that Sox GM Rick Hahn has no intention of selling a high-profile name before the deadline.

Hahn has previously hinted that adding to the bullpen will be a deadline priority, and can also use a left-handed bat in the outfield (ideally at second base as well). At the very least, the Sox hopes to get the band together and push the division title in stride.
