“We understand that a thorough investigation was conducted and we are very pleased that the NBA was able to do so, because that is clearly what we want. I would like to make it very clear that I do not want him back in a position that affects our players and those who serve our players on a daily basis.

In addition to a one-year suspension, the NBA announced Tuesday the results of a 10-month independent investigation into allegations of workplace abuse during Thurber’s nearly 20-year tenure as managing partner of the Suns. The server was fined $10 million.

The NBA commissioned an investigation in the wake of a November 2021 ESPN article detailing allegations of racism and misogyny during 17 years as the server owner.

Tremaglio told ESPN that he has expressed his views to NBA commissioner Adam Silver, but it remains unclear whether the league’s penalties for servers will change.

“I don’t know how open [Silver] “I think Mr. Thurber wants to come back and make it very clear that he can’t hold a managerial position,” Tremaglio said. I’ve heard of him from other owners. We’ve heard about him from sponsors and such, but I think it’s pretty clear there’s no expectation that he’ll be back. ”

Tremaglio was asked if he had discussed boycotting the game with his players as training camp approached.

“At the moment, we haven’t had any such discussions,” Tremaglio said. I think it’s very clear what they’re doing. Their hearts go out to their families and really all the individuals who have had to endure this. We are aware of something and we are really excited to move forward with the season.”

Tremaglio added: “Frankly, I never want my players to be put in danger or the individuals around them. I know Mr. Thurber had the ability to set the tone at the top.Having an individual in a leadership role that influences the game in such a way is a huge asset to player success and player success. It is hazardous to your safety and is unacceptable.”
