NCAA Division I field hockey committee announces 2022 championship field

Indianapolis – The NCAA Division I Field Hockey Commission today announced the teams competing in the 2022 NCAA Division I Field Hockey Championship. 10 meetings automatically qualified. The bottom four auto-qualifying teams will qualify for his two matches in the opening round. His six remaining auto-qualifying teams were placed in the bracket.

The next meeting and its delegates were automatically qualified.

  • American Eastern Conference: Albany
  • Atlantic Conference: north carolina
  • Atlantic 10 Conference: St Joseph
  • Big East Conference: freedom
  • Big Ten Conference: Michigan
  • Ivy League: Princeton
  • Colonial Athletic Association: Delaware
  • Central America Conference: Miami (Ohio)
  • Northeast Conference: rider
  • Patriot League: lehi

The remaining eight teams selected overall (in alphabetical order) include Iowa, Louisville, Maryland, Northwestern, Pennsylvania State, Syracuse, Virginia and Wake Forest.

The opening match will be held on November 9 at two venues, the first and second rounds. Rounds 1 and 2 will take place at four campus sites on November 11th and 13th. UConn will host the national semi-finals on Friday, November 18th and the championship finals on Sunday, November 20th at the George J. Sherman Family Sports Complex. in Storrs, Connecticut. The semifinals will be available on ESPN+ at 12:00 PM ET and 3:00 PM ET, while the championship game will air on ESPNU at 1:30 PM ET.Click here for ticket information NCAA.com/tickets.

Northwestern University is the defending national champion with a 2–0 victory over Liberty on November 21, 2021 at Phyllis Ockerfield in Ann Arbor, Michigan to claim its first NCAA Division I Field Hockey Championship title.

NCAA Division III Field Hockey Committee Selects 2022 Championship Bracket

The NCAA Division III Field Hockey Commission today announced the field of 26 teams that will compete in the 2022 NCAA Division III Field Hockey Championship.
